Antalya is a beautiful city on the southwest coast of Turkey, known for its warm weather, clear blue sea, and relaxing vibe. It sits along the Mediterranean coast, often called the “Turquoise Coast” because of its bright, sparkling water.
The city offers a mix of modern life and ancient history. You can relax on sunny beaches, swim in calm waters, or explore old ruins nearby. The food is another highlight, with fresh seafood, grilled meats, and sweet desserts to try.
I travelled to Antalya during the summer of 2024, and I really enjoyed my time there! I felt like I had discovered such a hidden gem, tucked away from the busy Western Europe. I would recommend 1 to 2 nights here! Here are in my experience the 5 best places to visit in Antalya, Türkiye.

1. Kaleiçi (Old Town)
Kaleiçi in Antalya is the historic heart of the city, full of charm and stories from the past. Walking through Kaleiçi feels like stepping into another time. The streets are narrow and made of cobblestones, lined with old Ottoman-style houses that have wooden balconies and colorful doors.
As you explore, you’ll find small shops, cozy cafés, and local restaurants tucked into every corner. The area is lively but still peaceful, especially in the early morning or evening. One of the highlights is the beautiful marina, where boats rest by the clear blue water and the views are perfect for photos.
I loved simply walking around, going into different cafes, and taking in the sun. We went during the morning, and it was super quiet!
2. Konyaaltı Beach
Konyaaltı Beach in Antalya is one of the most popular places to relax by the sea. It stretches for several kilometers along the coast, with clear blue water and beautiful views of the nearby mountains.
The beach is mostly made of small pebbles instead of sand, which helps keep the water clean and bright. It’s a great spot for swimming, sunbathing, or just enjoying a peaceful walk by the shore. The sunsets here are especially lovely, with the sky turning soft shades of orange and pink.
Along the beach, you’ll find cafés, restaurants, and parks, so it’s easy to spend the whole day here. There are also places to rent sunbeds or try fun water activities.
We spent half a day here, but honestly we could have easily spent the whole day there to just relax.
3. Yivli Minare
Yivli Minaret in Antalya is one of the most famous landmarks in the city. It stands tall above the skyline and is easy to spot from many places.
The minaret is known for its unique design, with deep grooves running up its sides, which give it a fluted look. It was built many centuries ago during the Seljuk period and has become a symbol of Antalya’s history and culture.
Around the minaret, you can find a peaceful square with old buildings, small shops, and places to sit and relax. It’s also close to the old town, Kaleiçi, so it’s easy to visit while exploring the area.
Yivli Minaret is a great place to take photos and learn a little about the past while enjoying the atmosphere of the city.
4. Hadrian Gate
Hadrian’s Gate in Antalya is a beautiful ancient monument that welcomes visitors into the old town. It was built in honor of the Roman emperor Hadrian when he visited the city many years ago.
The gate is made of white stone and has three large arches, giving it a grand and elegant look. As you walk through it, you can even see parts of the original ancient road beneath your feet.
Surrounded by old walls and nearby shops, Hadrian’s Gate feels like a doorway into history. It’s one of the best spots in Antalya to take photos and imagine what the city was like in ancient times.
5. Lower Duden Waterfalls
Lower Düden Waterfalls in Antalya is one of the most beautiful natural sights in the area. What makes it special is that the water flows over a high cliff and falls straight into the Mediterranean Sea.
The sound of the rushing water and the fresh breeze from the sea make it a peaceful and refreshing place to visit. You can walk along the paths nearby and enjoy amazing views of the waterfall from different angles. There are also spots where you can take great photos, especially when the sunlight creates rainbows in the mist.
The surrounding park is green and relaxing, with places to sit and enjoy the scenery. Lower Düden Waterfalls is a perfect stop if you want to see nature’s beauty right next to the sea.
