1. Mont Tremblant

Duration to get to: 1h45 one way by car

Mont-Tremblant is a beautiful mountain destination that feels like a peaceful escape from the city. It is known for its fresh air, stunning nature, and cozy village atmosphere.

At the center is Mont Tremblant Village, a colorful pedestrian village with small shops, cafés, and restaurants. The buildings look like a European ski town, making it a charming place to walk around.

In winter, Mont-Tremblant is famous for skiing and snowboarding, with snowy slopes for all skill levels. In summer, the area becomes green and calm, perfect for hiking, biking, and enjoying the outdoors. You can also relax by Lac Tremblant, where the water is clear and the views are beautiful. During the fall, the leaves turn into magical colours, making it my favourite season to go hiking there.

2. Parc Omega

Duration to get to: 1h30 one way by car

Parc Omega is a unique wildlife park where you can see Canadian animals up close in their natural surroundings. It feels more like a nature adventure than a traditional zoo.

The best part is the drive-through experience. You stay in your car and slowly drive through large open areas where animals like elk, deer, and bison walk freely around you. Sometimes, they even come right up to your window, which makes the experience exciting and memorable.

There are also walking paths where you can safely see animals like wolves, bears, and foxes. Informational signs along the way help you learn more about each species and their habitat.

The park is surrounded by forests, lakes, and peaceful scenery, making it a relaxing place to explore. In the fall, the colorful leaves make it especially beautiful.

3. Maison Lavande

Duration to get to: 50 mins one way by car

Maison Lavande is a peaceful lavender farm that feels calm and relaxing. As soon as you arrive, you see wide fields filled with soft purple flowers and smell the gentle scent of lavender in the air.

You can walk along small paths through the fields, take photos, and enjoy the quiet countryside. In the summer, the lavender is in full bloom, making the whole place look bright and beautiful.

There is also a small shop where you can find lavender products like oils, soaps, and candles. Many visitors like to bring home a little piece of the experience.

The farm often has simple picnic areas, so you can sit, relax, and enjoy the view with friends or family.

You can visit their field in St-Eustache, which is open starting end of June. The rest of the time, you can purchase any items at their operating stores, which are situated a bit everywhere across Montreal.

4. The Great Canadian Bungee

Duration to get to: 2h30 one way by car

Great Canadian Bungee is an exciting place for people who love adventure and want to try something different.

It is one of the highest bungee jumps in Canada. You jump from a tall platform over a clear blue lagoon, surrounded by rocky cliffs and trees. The view from the top is beautiful—but also a little scary!

When you jump, you feel a rush of adrenaline as you fall quickly, then bounce back up. It’s a thrilling experience that many people remember for a long time.

Even if you don’t want to jump, you can still visit and watch others, enjoy the scenery, and take photos.

It was my first (and only time) bungee jumping, and I honestly loved the experience so much! The staff also made the whole experience very comfortable, and I felt super safe.

Ottawa is a calm and beautiful city that is full of history and culture. As the capital of Canada, it has important buildings, museums, and wide open spaces.

One of the main highlights is Parliament Hill, where you can see impressive government buildings and watch the changing of the guard in the summer. Nearby, the Rideau Canal runs through the city. In winter, it becomes the world’s largest outdoor skating rink, and in summer, it’s perfect for walking and relaxing by the water.

Ottawa has many great museums, like the Canadian Museum of History, where you can learn about the country’s past in a fun and interactive way.

The city feels clean, safe, and easy to explore. There are parks, bike paths, and cozy cafés all around. In the fall, the trees turn bright red and orange, making the city even more beautiful.

6. Mont-Saint-Hilaire

Duration to get to: 45 mins one way by car

Mont-Saint-Hilaire is a quiet and beautiful nature spot just outside Montreal. It is perfect for people who want to escape the city and enjoy fresh air and peaceful views.

The main attraction is Mont-Saint-Hilaire Nature Centre, where you can hike on forest trails that lead up the mountain. Along the way, you’ll see trees, small streams, and maybe even wildlife.

At the top, you get a stunning view of the surrounding countryside, rivers, and fields. It’s a great place to take photos or simply relax and enjoy nature.

In the fall, the mountain is especially popular because the leaves change into bright red, orange, and yellow colors. It’s one of the best places near Montreal to see autumn scenery.

9. Quebec City

Quebec City is a charming and historic place that feels like a small European town in North America. With its old stone buildings and narrow streets, it has a unique and romantic atmosphere.

The most famous area is Old Quebec, where you can walk along cobblestone streets and see beautiful architecture. Sitting above the city is the iconic Château Frontenac, one of the most photographed hotels in the world.

You can also visit Montmorency Falls, a stunning waterfall that is even taller than Niagara Falls. In winter, the falls freeze and create an amazing icy view.

Quebec City is full of culture, with street performers, small shops, and cozy cafés. French is the main language here, which adds to the European feeling.

I have a blog post on all the best things to do there! Click here to read on the 8 best places to visit in Quebec City.

10. Adirondack Mountains

The Adirondack Mountains are a stunning range of mountains in upstate New York, known for their natural beauty and outdoor adventures. They are perfect for people who love nature, fresh air, and peaceful landscapes.

The area is full of forests, lakes, and rivers. You can hike on trails that lead to mountain peaks with amazing views, go canoeing or kayaking on calm lakes, and even camp under the stars. In fall, the trees turn bright red, orange, and yellow, making it one of the best places to see autumn colors.

In winter, the Adirondacks become a snowy playground with skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling. Small towns nearby have cozy shops, cafés, and local restaurants to warm up after a day outside.

I have been to Giant Mountain, Iron Mountain, and Mount Van Hoevenberg, all for hiking. Giant Mountain is more of a moderate difficult hike with an elevation gain of over 1000m, while Iron Mountain and Mount Van Hoevenberg are easier hikes, with an elevation gain of approximately 500m.
