St. Peter’s Pool is a rocky beach near Marsaxlokk, located in the south of the island of Malta. It is perfect to visit if you want to relax by the sea, or if you are interested in some cliff jumping. The clear blue water is a beach lover’s dream.

St. Peter’s Pool is a very famous place to visit, so I recommend getting here in the morning if you would to have the place to yourself. If you don’t mind, you can come at the time that works best with you.

This picture was taken at the Mdina Gate, the main entrance to the city of Mdina.

4. Mdina, the silent city

Mdina, also known as the silent city, was anciently the capital of Malta, before it was moved to be Valletta. The city has its special nickname due to the fact that once it lost its title of the capital city, many people left, which made Mdina seem like a ghost town. Today, you can stroll around peacefully during the day, although there are sometimes other tourists also doing the same. They have a few local shops and cafes where you can look into.

If you are looking for a city tour of Mdina and also Rabat, a city right next to Mdina, check out this guided tour!

This picture was taken at the Blue Lagoon, in Comino.

5. Comino Island – Blue Lagoon

Comino is another island that belongs to the country of Malta. It is also home to the famous Blue Lagoon. You can get to Comino through various ways, such as a guided boat tour ($$) or a small boat taxi from the northern part of Malta ($). The Blue Lagoon has crystal blue water. I honestly think this is the clearest water I have ever seen. There are sun beds and umbrellas for rent if you plan on spending your day at the Blue Lagoon. They also have food trucks and washrooms.

If you are looking for a guided boat tour to the Blue Lagoon, check out this tour. In this tour, you get to swim at the Blue Lagoon, use the boat’s deckchairs to relax, slide from the boat into the sea, and much more.

This picture was taken at Ta’ Marija Cave, in Malta.

6. Ta’ Marija Cave

Ta’ Marija Cave feels like a hidden gem because not a lot of people visit it due to its difficulty to get to. It is located on the coast and only observable by boat or by walking to it on the side. Some people like to hike there, but the method that we did was to rent a kayak at Gnejna Bay. It took us around 20 minutes of paddling to get to the cave. The cave is absolutely stunning.

7. Coral Lagoon

Coral Lagoon is a lagoon located in the north part of Malta. It can be a bit challenging to get to but so worth the effort. Some people cliff jump into the lagoon (although I strongly do not advise because I have seen some people get hurt from it). If you would like to get into the lagoon, you can take boat or even a jet ski.
